About me
I started my working life as a production assistant in film and television.
After a difficult journey with the birth control pill in my late teens and the realisation that synthetic hormones were affecting my well being, I began exploring alternatives to the pharmaceutical/medical model.
With the birth of my first son in the early 90’s, I began to question everything! I slowly became aware of the risks of vaccines while noticing my infant son’s reactions to them, asking questions and receiving less than sufficient answers from the medical establishment; I began studying an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy/Western Botanic Medicine and Homeopathy at the S.A. College of Natural and Traditional Medicine, graduating in 1997. I also began what has become a life long practice, as a student and teacher of yoga in the Iyengar tradition.
I began working as a massage therapist and after graduation, continued my private practice as a Herbalist/Naturopath and Homeopath. I worked at a busy Adelaide Hills health food store as the ‘in house’ Naturopath and collaborated in a collectively run, wholistic health center, alongside many other alternative health practitioners. I worked with some truly incredible practitioners; medical doctors, energy healers, a Findhorn herbalist, a druidically trained medicine woman, amongst many others. I have spent my entire adult life surrounded by alternative healers from many backgrounds, many of whom have been my teachers (far too many to list here).
I met my husband and had two more sons, choosing not to vaccinate them and using homeopathy and herbal medicine if they were ever unwell. (I put the pause on my practice while the boys were young).
Alongside growing my family and tending to our property, I ran my own felt art business, with monthly stalls and an etsy shop, whilst continuing to deepen my study of Iyengar yoga with regular assessments, study, practice and teaching. I held women’s retreats and gatherings and along with my husband put on annual world music nights in the Adelaide Hills.
During covid I returned to my practice with a renewed focus on Homeopathy and Homeopathic counselling - exploring the deeper psycho-spiritual aspects of what is showing up in the body and in our lives, using this as a springboard to unlock deeply held patterns, not only for ourselves, but for our ancestral lineage.
Teaching yoga classes weekly (which I have been doing continuously for the past 20+ years).
Continued Homeopathic studies/currently with Dr. Gaurang Gakwaid of the Academy of Classical Homeopathy, Mumbai, India.
